Value of the Fisheries Resources in the Bulkley River System

The purpose of this report is to provide an indication of the net economic value of the fisheries stocks in the Bulkley river system. This is done by assessing current and future values of recreational, commercial and, to some degree, Indigenous fishing activities assuming preservation of the present levels of water quality in the system. It provides a general indication of the net economic value of the fisheries resources at risk in the face of potential acid mine drainage problems. The actual losses associated with acid mine drainage will depend on the water quality impacts and the resultant effects on fish production.
