This review is a qualitative assessment of existing data and a review of relevant primary literature. The objective of this review is to assess the potential effects of elements released from the Morrison Copper/Gold Project on fish assemblages in Morrison Lake, with particular emphasis on sockeye salmon. This review will assess (i) the known effects of cadmium on sockeye salmon and other fish species, (ii) the potential impacts of mixed metal mine effluents on sockeye salmon and other fish species, (iii) the effect of cadmium and other metals on sensitive stages in fish life history, (iv) variability in sensitivity to metals among different fish species, and (v) the adequacy of the BC Water Quality Guidelines standards.
