This report assesses the economic and biological consequences of further development at Houston, B.C. The first part of this paper identifies the geographic and biological aspects of the Bulkley River system and evaluates, in dollar terms, the commercial, recreational and indigenous food fisheries of the Morice and Bulkley Rivers. Then, an assessment of the physical and
chemical effects of effluent discharge is made, and finally, the net economic effect such chemical and physical changes would have on these fisheries is calculated.
