Kumealon Creek Instream Construction

Two instream rehabilitation projects were implemented in Kumealon Creek, located 56 km south of Prince Rupert. The site is only accessible by boat or air. The creek has high fisheries value, but timber extraction has negatively affected the area in the past. The project aimed at creating 3000m2 off-channel complex for overwintering coho fry and construct instream structures to improve rearing habitat for juvenile coho, steelhead and chinook within Kumealon Creek
