A Survey of Bulkley River Steelhead Anglers in 1997/98

The River Guardians conducted a creel survey of Bulkley River steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) anglers from late August until mid November. Two River Guardian teams collected recreational angler's demographics (residence, age, conservation club membership, trip length, hours angling that day), angling methods, access method, license details, and steelhead catch were collected from the short interview. Four-hundred and sixty-nine steelhead (Oncorhynchusmykiss) anglers were observed by the Interview Teams and 374 anglers were approached for an interview in 1997, and Two-thousand and sixty-five steelhead anglers were observed by the River Guardians and 1,199 anglers were approached for an interview in 1998 on the Bulkley River.
