Water Science Series - Guidance for Technical Assessment Requirements

The guidance document is for an applicant wishing to establish a new non-domestic groundwater supply. The document provides guidance to the applicant and the professional acting on behalf of the applicant about the requirements of a technical assessment to support their application of an authorization to divert and use groundwater. The document provides guidance to determine: if a technical assessment is or may be required, through use of a self-screening tool; and, if a technical assessment is required, what is the appropriate level of detail likely required to support the application. The guidance is intended to promote greater consistency in technical assessment and more timely decisions on applications for proposed groundwater use.
