Vopak Pacific Canada Project Description

The purpose of the Project is to provide berthing and loading facilities for bulk liquid cargo that will be received via the existing rail loop on Ridley Island. Due to the shortage of market access, many products cannot reach international markets where there is a strong demand. An evaluation of potential environmental effects will be undertaken in order to determine the likelihood and severity of potential impacts from the Project on components of the environment that are of value to Indigenous Peoples, the public, and/or agencies. A preliminary list of these ‘Valued Components’ (VCs) is included based on experience from similar projects in the area, and will be updated to reflect comments received from Indigenous Peoples, the public, and agencies.
