Kleanza Creek Spawning Weirs Feasibility Project

Kleanza Creek is a 5th order tributary to the Skeena River, draining approximately 655 kilometers of stream in a 202 square kilometer watershed. Due to failure of previous construction, increased flows and a lack of structural habitat elements have resulted in a major loss of spawning gravels through this reach. This project is a feasibility study into the possibility of installing rock weirs within the stream channel, in order to provide areas of gravel accumulation for spawning salmonids.
