Eulachon Status on the Ecstall and Lower Falls Rivers

This study aimed to document eulachon presence in the Falls River watershed and validate local knowledge from the Lax Kw'alaams community and other Skeena River First Nations. Monitoring included sediment, water quality, and the presence of eggs and adults. Findings showed adult eulachon were present, but no significant evidence of spawning was found, suggesting the dam's impact on sediment and recommending further study and restoration efforts to improve spawning conditions.
