Reconnaissance Level Fish and fish Habitat...
A total of 230 sites were sampled between July 25 and October 2 1996 and July 7 and September 20 1997. Twenty nine sites were classified as "Not A Creek" based on the absence of a defined channel in the sampling area. Fish were captured by electrofishing at 51 sites, were visually observed at another 6 sites, and the species sampled include : rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, cutthroat trout, burbot, coho, peamouth chub, long nose dace, northern squawfish and an unidentified sucker species. A total o f 52 sites were classified non fish bearing S5 or S6 and the basis for the non fish bearing status is summarized. This report also includes recommendations for resampling in reaches that fish are likely to use, but where no fish were caught.
