In order to gain a better understanding of the fish and fish habitat within portions of their Forest License, Stuart Lake Lumber Company Ltd. initiated a Reconnaissance Fish and Fish Habitat Inventory. The inventory is intended to provide information regarding fish species characteristics, distributions and relative abundance, as well as stream reach and lake biophysical data for interpretation of habitat sensitivity and capability for fish production (BC Ministry of Fisheries 1998a).
This project also included an operational inventory component, where certain reaches were sampled for Forest Practices Code stream classification.
