Toboggan Creek Steelhead Assessments

A collection of the Toboggan Creek steelhead assessments. Prior to 1993, assessment of the steelhead trout population in Toboggan Creek watershed was limited. The Toboggan Creek counting fence was first operated for steelhead in 1978 though it has been in operation for coho salmon since 1989. Since 1993 steelhead population estimates based on fence counts have ranged from 120 - 505 with most of the estimates being in the range of 200-400 individuals.

Toboggan Creek Salmon and Steelhead Enhancement Society

Toboggan Creek Hatchery, established in 1985, has been enhancing salmon and steelhead into Bulkley / Morice watershed for over 30 years.
