The Exchamsiks Backchannel area was recognized as having tremendous potential to provide necessary juvenile salmonid habitat in the lower Skeena River. The project focused on enhancing fish access and habitat quality. Work was conducted on multiple sites along the Backchannel including culvert installation, excavation, installation of gravel spawning pads, and creation of deep water refuge.
