Limnological and Limnetic Fish Surveys of North Coast Area Lakes in 2005

This report summarizes findings from our 2005 surveys of 7 North Coast Area lakes. Limnological surveys were carried out on 5 of the lakes in order to obtain a first estimate of the lakes' trophic status, juvenile sockeye rearing capacity, and factors limiting their productivity. Objectives of the fish ecology surveys (carried out on all but Ian Lake) were to obtain population estimates, determine the species composition of the lakes' limnetic fish communities, and obtain estimates of juvenile sockeye size and diet.
